LETTERS TO STUDENTS on Second and Third Line of Work
2001 - 146 pages, softbound. - $15

Responding to questions from students' letters, and in his own very personal manner, Mr. Haven discusses many aspects of the second and third line of work in the Fourth Way. A wonderful work that clarifies what it means and what it takes to be part of a real school dedicated to one's possible evolution.

Letter of June 1984
Dear Friend,
After reading your letter I wondered whether you might be a little too passive in relation to opportunities. You seem to be strong in relation to living with events and accepting your lot, but weaker in terms of making the efforts that could lead to an alteration of your circumstances. True acceptance accepts everything, including one's responsibilities to oneself, to others and to the School. This is one of the ways in which the Fourth Way differs from the other three ways, for it implies an active, lively participation in life at the same time one is learning to separate from it. This involvement with life is the source of the pressure necessary for one's work. Without it one inevitably slips into imagination.
